Tad Gardere has been a professional in this area for over 25 years and brings tremendous experience and value to his clients. Tad began with Aon Corporation in Chicago in 1992 and spent 8 years with Aon Illinois brokering to law firms in Chicago until he moved to Aon Dallas and became responsible for the AICPA plan in Texas. The AICPA plan is the largest program in the nation for accountants and Tad grew the program in Texas over 6 years to be the one of the most profitable in the country. After leaving Aon, Tad worked with agencies in Texas including Dexter & Company and ProTexn, still working exclusively with law firms and accounting firms until 2005 when he formed his own agency, Crestone Risk Management. Tad joined RCP in 2016 when RCP started in Dallas and has developed a significant professional liability practice for the firm.

Tad has a bachelors degree from the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

Tad lives in Dallas with his wife, Heather. They have 2 children.

MIKE JACOBY

Healthcare

Mike Jacoby leads Risk Consulting Partners’ rapidly growing healthcare practice. The RCP healthcare practice includes cyber and management liability perils for hospitals, physician groups, managed care organizations and others. Jacoby brings to RCP more than 35 years of experience as an innovator and thought leader, having worked for such nationally recognized insurance intermediaries as Marsh & McLennan, Lockton and IMA.

As the Healthcare Practice National Director for IMA in Dallas, Jacoby helped the company realize exponential revenue and client growth. Jacoby’s business experience runs the gamut from medical malpractice insurance, property and casualty to commercial lines and employee benefits. In addition, Jacoby wrote healthcare coverage policy wordings that have become industry standard while addressing complex risk issues for hospital networks, surgery centers, home health and palliative care.

Jacoby earned his bachelor’s in business administration and management from University of Nebraska at Kearney. In addition to his insurance interests, his wife and he have a major investment in Lion One Metals. LIO has a project in Fiji that they believe will be one of the top gold development projects in the world.

NICK KOENEMANN

President

Nick Koenemann joined Risk Consulting Partners (RCP) in 2015. Currently, Nick serves as the President of RCP and is a leader of the private equity practice group within the firm. Nick is part of the leadership team responsible for shaping the strategy and growth plans for the firm.

In the private equity space, he has worked with clients across the country to help guide them through complex transactions. His extensive private equity expertise is focused on consulting clients on employee benefits, insurance, and risk management strategies and best practices focused on pre-close due diligence and post-close value creation in their portfolio companies. Other areas of expertise include reps and warranties, corporate retirement plans, and key person life insurance.

Nick started his insurance career at Lockton Companies in St. Louis, Mo. Later, he worked at Marsh & McLennan Companies and was responsible for managing complex insurance, risk management and employee benefit programs for numerous clients across industries and geographies.

Nick received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from The George Washington University.

In addition to spending time with his family, Nick enjoys being outdoors and traveling. Nick is a member of both the Association of Corporate Growth and the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors.

JIM MYER

Jim Myer is an Executive Managing Director of Risk Consulting Partners’ St. Louis office, and leads the firm’s Private Equity Risk Consulting practice.  Jim has more than twenty five years in the insurance industry with significant experience in the Private Equity space, as well as a variety of other industry sectors.

Prior to joining RCP, Jim was Vice President and Senior Sales Executive at Wells Fargo Insurance Services.  Previously, Jim spent fifteen years helping Private Equity firms as Senior Director of Aon’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group, conducting business nationwide.  He also started a St. Louis office and was Managing Director for Krauter & Company, a national brokerage firm specializing in risk management and insurance needs of Private Equity firms.  Jim started his insurance career with Corroon & Black (subsequently Willis) in 1986.

Jim is a longtime board member and past President of the Gateway Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  He is involved in a variety of charitable boards and activities in St. Louis.

Jim received his Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Colorado.

Scott Uhl is the National Practice Leader of the Executive Risk unit at Risk Consulting Partners, LLC. Scott’s core placement and consulting focus is on Directors, Officers and Corporate Securities Liability (D&O), Technology Errors & Omissions, Information Security & Cyber/Privacy Liability, Professional Errors and Omission Liability, Employment Practices Liability, and Fiduciary Liability. He has direct access to both the domestic and the Lloyd’s of London marketplaces. Scott regularly speaks and writes on management and professional liability matters.

Prior to joining RCP, Scott served was a Senior Vice-President at EWI Re’s Specialty Casualty wholesale underwriting and captive reinsurance units. Earlier assignments include serving as the Practice Leader of Lockton Financial Services Governance Risk Management Group and Technology unit, based in Silicon Valley and Dallas, as the Western U.S. Underwriting Manager for Liberty International underwriting D&O, EPLI, Fiduciary and Financial Institutions unit, and as the Branch Manager and lead IPO management liability underwriter at American International Group (NYSE: AIG) and as a Risk Manager for CLP Resources (NYSE: TBI).

Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Chico in Economic Geography and attended graduate school at the University of California. Scott was the Southwest Regional Director of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriters Society (PLUS) and Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS). From 2006-2012, Scott served two-terms on the Advisory Board of the National Association of Corporate Director, North Texas Chapter. He regularly lectures at the University of Texas, Dallas (UTD) Department of Risk Management.

When left to his own devices, Scott can usually be found doing something outdoors with his kids, watching the history channel or C-Span or searching out live music or running a 5K. Scott is also an Assistant Scout Master (ASM) for BSA Troop 928 at Whites Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas, and is member of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Ft. Worth.
